GHANA

This was a particularly special trip. My sister studied abroad in Chiang Mai, which gave myself, my mom, and my brother the opportunity to go out and visit her at the tail end of her semester. She left northern Thailand to meet us on a layover in Bangkok right before a flight took us all together to Phuket.

There, we stayed within walking distance of a beach and town and spent a few days exploring both the nature around us as well as cultural sights like the Big Buddha, a massive statue on top of a mountain.

We returned to Bangkok to spend a few days in the capital, exploring its waterways and rich blends of expansive modern city growing around ancient temples. The whole trip lasted us 10 days and left me craving so much more from Thailand and the rest of the East.
